Youth Leadership Spotlight

Phoenix

I go to New Britain High School and I maintain grades of As and Bs. I play AAU Basketball and play saxophone for the Golden Hurricanes Marching Band. I plan on going to college and starting the pre-med track to become a medical doctor. I look forward to majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. I want to become a dermatologist. I like being a part of the Youth Leadership Council because I am able to make new friends that have the same community interest as I do.

Alex

Hello, I am Alex (Israel) Dandrade and I am 13 years old. I am a freshmen at New Britain High School taking Honors classes. I am very active in sports, playing high school basketball and serving as the Freshman Football Captain. I also play AAU basketball. The Youth Leadership Council is important because we donate to New Britain youth programs and we promote keeping kids away from drugs and alcohol.

Julianna

My name is Julianna Guerrero. I am a junior at CREC Academy of Science and Innovation. Sports I participate in involve soccer, indoor track, and outdoor track for the Ravens team. The extracurricular activities that I am part of include Peer Mediation and National Honor Society. Youth Leadership Council is important to advocate against and prevent drug and alcohol use for young teens! This is something I feel I should take part in to help the community around me. I believe the program can make a difference in New Britain and has the ability to do so.
